The Council of the City of SydneyThe Council of the City of SydneyThe Council of the City of Sydney has generously provided $5000 in sponsorship to help fund the purchase of more wigs to help the Tracey Scone Wig Library keep pace with the growing number of women who are experiencing hair loss from chemotherapy. A report released by the Cancer Institute of NSW says cancer incidence has increased by around seven per cent in females over the past decade; but cancer deaths have fallen by eight per cent in females over the past 10 years. Overall, death rates from cancer have consistently declined each year since the late 1980s but with the overall increase in incidence, more women are needing treatment each year, thereby leading to a greater demand for our Wig Library service. Thanks to The Council of the City of Sydney, we are now in a better position to support the growing number of women in need of the service.
